Assessment of cognitive functions in patients with multiple sclerosis

Abstract Background About 40–70% of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) develop cognitive impairment (CI) throughout their life. We aim to study the influence MS on changes. This is a case–control fifty who met revised 2017 Mc Donald Criteria and age- sex-matched healthy subjects. The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) was used assess degree disability, Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scoring system function. Results show low total MoCA score than controls. Total scores were lower in CI versus those intact cognition. higher longer duration illness high EDSS. positively correlated education level but negatively EDSS disease duration.
